After Iván Duque took office, the Peace Talks between the government and the National Liberation Army (ELN) were in a state of uncertainty. This increased on January 17, after the insurgency took responsibility for the events at the General Santander Cadet School.

Brasil de Fato, Ecuador Today, Resumen Latinoamericano, Colombia Informa and Peoples Dispatch carried out an exclusive interview to the ELN Peace Delegation in Havana, Cuba.

The first part of the interview is focused on the state of the Dialogues and the Delegation in Cuba, as well as the actions taken by the Colombian government and the will for peace of the insurgency.

Peoples Dispatch looks into the recent exposé published by The Intercept which reveals the bias and political motivation of the Brazilian judiciary during the prosecution of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The prosecution team of Operation Car Wash had close links to the Judge overseeing the case, Sérgio Moro, who gave them tips and advice. The exposé also reveals how one of the driving forces of the Car Wash task force was to prevent a return of Lula’s Workers’ Party (PT) to power.
