In this episode of Around the World in 8 Minutes, we highlight the commemoration of Black August across the United States starting with the life and struggle of Black revolutionary George Jackson, the importance of the Attica uprising and looking at contemporary struggles for Black liberation. Today, diverse organizations across the United States commemorate Black August, through study circles, public events, and mobilizing behind and outside the prison walls to demand liberation. We also report the struggles of incarcerated workers inside of the United States as part of this legacy.
