Hundreds of people protested in Poland on December 1 while the parliament was proceeding with the first reading of a draft anti-abortion law. The bill was rejected in the parliament with 361 votes against and 48 in favor of it on December 2.

The bill proposed by anti-abortion groups called for a complete ban on abortions including in cases of rape and pregnancies that pose a threat to women’s health.
