‘Your batons can only break our bones, not our spirit of resistance’

Delhi police brutally attacked the students of Jamia Millia Islamia University who were protesting against the discriminatory Citizenship (Amendment) Act

On Sunday, December 15, police in the Indian state of Delhi baton charged and tear gassed students of Jamia Millia Islamia University and laid a siege on nearby Muslim dominated colony. According to reports, police entered university hostels and library, thrashing students and firing tear gas inside the library reading room. Numerous students were injured, with three said to be in critical condition.

The Jamia students and residents were protesting against the discriminatory citizenship law and all India National Register of Citizens being implemented by far-right Indian government.
