After 12 hours of debate, the Argentine senate passed the Voluntary Termination of Pregnancy (IVE) bill on December 30. Throughout the debate, thousands of militants from feminist organizations, social movements and other groups gathered outside the National Congress to demonstrate their support to the bill. When the passing of the bill was announced, the streets erupted in mass celebration.
