On this day in 1962, British anti-fascists foiled a fascist rally by Oswald Mosley, leader of party Unionist Party along with Blackshirts movementBlackshirts movement Blackshirts movement in London’s east end. The anti-fascists charged towards the fascists and knocked Oswald to the ground. Oswald and members of Blackshirt movement was met by a hail of missiles including rotten fruit, pennies and stones. Oswald was the leader of the British Union of Fascists from 1932 to 1940 and of its successor, the Union Movement, from 1948 until his death.
