The condo project will also affect 20% of the water being supplied to the city and the surrounding areas. There has been excessive use of force by the police against the demonstrators, which has also been denounced by the UNOHCHR. Honduras is one of the most unsafe places for environmental and land defenders in current times, with frequent killings and disappearances of those who raise their voices against exploitation.
