The Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba concluded on April 19. It was the Congress for the Historical Continuity of the Cuban Revolution. One of the key objectives of this conference was to define the“continuity and irreversibility” of the Cuban revolutionary process. As part of this process, Raul Castro, the First Secretary of the party stepped down from his post.
