The mass mobilizations of the Colombian people over the last week have been met with unprecedented levels of repression. As of today, human rights organizations have confirmed that at least 31 people have been killed in the violent acts by security forces and hundreds have been detained. As the national strike completes one week, we look at why people are on the streets, how they have responded to this horrific violence and what are their key demands.
