Vaccination against Covid-19 in India has got a boost with the emergency use authorization of Zydus Cadila’s three-dose ZyCoV-D vaccine among children above 12 years of age. Zydus claims that ZyCov-D, the first Covid-19 vaccine built on a DNA platform, doesn’t have problems associated with vector-based immunity. In this episode of ‘COVID-19 Watch’, Dr Satyajit Rath, former faculty at the National Institute of Immunology, discusses how the plasmid DNA vaccine could have an advantage over adenovirus-based vaccines.
