In today’s episode of the Daily Round-up we take a look at the ongoing repression of protests by Bedouin Palestinians in the Naqab (or Negev) desert against a forestation plan on their farming lands; a hunger strike by 200 people being detained at the Rikers Island jail complex in the US to protest the lack of basic and necessary services; the demolition of homes of the Muslim Gujjar-Bakarwal tribal community as part of an “anti-encroachment” drive in Jammu and Kashmir; and a one-day strike observed by tens of thousands of teachers across France against the government’s inadequate pandemic response.
