CPI(M)’s Party Congress kicks off in Kerala

The All-India Congress is a culmination of a months-long process where the smallest units of the party elect their leadership and send delegates to conferences at a higher level.

The Party Congress of India’s largest communist party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) began on the April 6. The Congress will formulate strategies on combating the growing rightward shift in Indian politics as well as on strengthening campaigns highlighting socialism as the only real alternative to capitalism. The meeting attended by over 800 delegates from across the country, will also elect the Party leadership for the next three years.
