Guillermo Lasso wins presidential election in Ecuador
The right-wing Guillermo Lasso obtained 52.41% of the votes while progressive candidate Andrés Arauz secured 47.59% of the votes in the election held on Sunday. Arauz’s Union for Hope alliance won the most seats in the legislature
