Nurses from 28 countries have filed a complaint in the UN alleging human rights violations by EU, UK, Norway, Switzerland, and Singapore for ‘the loss of countless lives’ in the pandemic. The nurses unions represent over 2.5 million healthcare workers from across the globe. The coalition in their complaint said these countries “have violated our rights and the rights of our patients — and caused the loss of countless lives” through “continued opposition to the TRIPS waiver … resulting in the violation of human rights of peoples across the world.”
