Working class sections and peace groups have called for opening up more crossing points on the Green Line which divides Cyprus. They also resolved to intensify the struggle for the reunification of the country within the framework of a bi-zonal and bi-communal federal solution

On January 26, Sunday, hundreds of young Cypriots participated in a march to demand the immediate closure of foreign military bases on the island, and called for the peaceful political reunification of Cyprus

Since its founding in 1949, the Cyprus Peace Council has played a key role in restoring peace in the island and promoting reconciliation between the ethnic communities.
