The strike took place in around 1,769 places in 112 countries around the world. Some of the demands were the imposition of climate emergency , including youth voices in policy-making and lowering the voting age to 16.

On February 15, tens of thousands of students in the UK joined the school strike for climate by boycotting classes and taking to the streets in around 60 towns and cities. The previous day, the marches and protests in Belgium continued for the sixth successive week

The wave of student action in Europe on the issue of climate change continued last week with thousands marching in Switzerland, Germany and Belgium with the demand that political leaders take concrete action on climate change

Students march for climate justice

The call for the protest was given by two students who were inspired by 15-year-old climate activist Greta Turnberg from Sweden, who addressed the climate summit in Katowice in Poland.
