In this interview, Vijay Prashad, director of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research and Prakash Karat, former general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) discuss the situation of the country after 73 years of independence. The current Modi government is trying to rewrite the history of the Indian independence movement. Not only that, recently PM Modi participated in the Ram Temple foundation ceremony in Ayodhya on August 5, which coincided with the abolition of special status for Jammu and Kashmir one year ago. Meanwhile, in the midst of this pandemic, public sector units are being privatized in the name of Atmanirbhar Bharat. In order to fight the current situation, we have to unite the working class and create a mass movement, says Prakash Karat.
