In Peru, as Keiko Fujimori refuses to concede, fears of coup rise

According to the official results announced by the Peruvian Electoral Authority – ONPE, Pedro Castillo of the Perú Libre party has won the elections with 50.137% votes (8.83 million votes). Meanwhile his opponent, Keiko Fujimori of Fuerza Popular won 49.893% (8.78 million votes). This adds up to the full 100% of the votes being counted.

Castillo has already begun to receive congratulations from around the world. But the National Jury of Elections has not yet proclaimed him as winner, and right-wing candidate Fujimori has refused to concede.
