Eco-left NUPES alliance and far-right make gains in French Assembly polls as Macronists lose majority

The eco-left NUPES coalition headed by Jean-Luc Melenchon won 131 seats and emerged as the second largest bloc in parliament. The Ensemble coalition led by President Emmanuel Macron lost its majority but still remains the largest bloc
