Iran claimed it submitted a new 14-point proposal for peace on Monday after reviewing the US response to its previous proposal, aiming to end the war on all fronts in the region.

During the Iranian foreign minister’s visit to Beijing, China reiterated the need for a comprehensive ceasefire in the region after calling the US-Israeli war on Iran “illegitimate”.

However it also maintains its position that no talks would be held with the US until it lifts its illegal naval blockade, imposed since April 13.

Iran has however made it clear that all movement of ships through the strait would be coordinated by it and the longevity of the move depends on the fate of the ceasefire with the US.

Iran and several other countries criticized Washington’s announcement to impose a naval blockade on Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, calling it illegal and counterproductive.
