Ali al-Nimr, from the minority Shia community in Saudi Arabia, was arrested in 2012 during anti-government protests when he was 17 years old, and condemned to death in 2014 on charges that human rights groups called vague 

Saudi activists Samar Badawi and Nassima al-Sadah released from jail

The activists who worked for the rights of women and of the Shia minority were in prison for nearly three years and were released following the completion of their sentences
