Iran claimed it submitted a new 14-point proposal for peace on Monday after reviewing the US response to its previous proposal, aiming to end the war on all fronts in the region.

Iran dismissed Kuwait’s accusations as “utterly baseless” and said that four Iranian personnel entered Kuwaiti territorial waters accidentally due to a navigational system malfunction.

The move came after the Gulf country joined the US in proposing a UN Security Council resolution on the situation of the Strait of Hormuz.

It is widely speculated that the US and Iran may resume their talks, which were abruptly discontinued last week in Islamabad, with Trump hinting the end of the war is “very close”.

Iranian leadership has made it clear that US can not be taken seriously when, Trump instead of withdrawing existing unilateral sanctions, is busy making threats of “maximum pressure campaign”.
