At least 20 people have died in the western state of Mérida, where heavy rains caused mudslides and flooding.
Massive flooding has devastated parts of South Asia, especially northeastern India and Bangladesh.
The disaster occurred in northern Kachin State’s Hpakant township and was triggered by heavy rainstorm. The number of deaths is expected to rise as scores of miners remain missing
