
Workers in major cities across the United States, participated in a nationwide strike action to raise the federal minimum wage to USD 15 per hour, on February 16

Pickets and demonstrations, led by workers from major fast food chains and home care workers, were reported in major cities across the US. The strike comes at a time when Democrats are trying to hike the federal minimum wage that has remained unchanged since 2009.

After the City met the union’s final demand regarding days missed due to the strike, the CTU declared a victory and classes will resume tomorrow

Over 25,000 teachers and around 7,500 support staff members of the Chicago Public School (CPS) system have gone on strike

In addition to workers affiliated to the Chicago Teachers Union, support staff in schools affiliated with the Service Employees International Union will also join the strike
