The US government has declared September 3 to be the potential target date for the release of a vaccine for COVID-19. The vaccine that is being tested has gone through its first two stages of trials but the US FDA has short circuited the testing process by using the emergency use authorization clause. With this, what remains to seen is if a real vaccine that gives long term protection will be able to make this “election promise” made by Donald Trump cut or not. And who will pay the price of a vaccine that has not secured testing procedure?
