Public sector employees across India strike against govt’s privatization plans

Trade unions and farmers unions also protested in solidarity against the Modi-led govt’s plans of large scale disinvestment.

From March 15-18, public sector employees in India demonstrated and went on strikes against privatization and disinvestment. The Narendra Modi-led BJP govt in India announced a target of achieving disinvestment worth Rs. 1.75 trillion (~USD 24 billion) in this fiscal year. Trade unions and farmers unions also protested in solidarity against the Modi-led govt’s plans of large scale disinvestment.
