Wildfires raging across the Mediterranean and California in recent months have caused irreparable destruction. Scientists attribute the extensive spreading of wildfires to a historic rise in temperature and dryness in the region. According to experts, the phenomenon will only get worse in coming years.

The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report released on August 9 concluded that the world cannot avoid the devastating consequences of climate change as its pace has now reached an unprecedented level. It also stated that political will to drive a global collective effort to take immediate actions to cut global emissions will help avoid some aspects of the predicted devastation.
