Following a decision by the Match supermarket chain to keep their stores open on all holidays, workers, trade unions and other progressive sections in Luxembourg have intensified their campaign against holiday work and work-hours flexibility

18 organizations, including trade unions and left parties, took part in the protest. According to a recent report, Luxembourg has seen the highest rise in housing prices in the first quarter in Europe.

The protest was organized by housing rights groups and leftist parties in response to a controversial directive by the Esch City Council to regulate the procedures for renting apartments
