On April 2, organizations reported that an Indigenous activist was assassinated at a Minga mobilization point by the National Army. The next day, ESMAD units attacked the participants and burned down their tents and kitchen

An unknown person is believed to fired an explosive device at a house where the guards were discussing logistics for a mobilization. The massacre occurred in the midst of massive mobilizations in the region that have been met with heavy repression by Colombian Public Force.

The ESMAD arbitrarily entered the camps, shot at protesters with tear gas and then burned down the campsite, injuring at least 14 people
