Israeli authorities also announced granting an additional 5,000 Palestinian businessmen from Gaza entry permits into Israel, along with an increase in the water supplied to Gaza by five million cubic meters

Israel often blocks the fishing zone, driving thousands of Palestinians dependent on it for their livelihood and food using the pretexts of rocket attacks

The restrictions on the fishing zone have been criticized for being form of collective punishment which is against international human rights and also a violation of the Oslo accords
