While current US president Joe Biden does lack his predecessor Donald Trump’s infamous penchant for hyperbole, the two administrations have functioned very similarly on many grounds. The US defense budget is the most telling example of this.
In December, the US senate passed a defense budget of USD 768 billion, USD 38 billion higher than the previous one under the Donald Trump administration. The increase in the defense budget comes at a time when there has been no progress on emergency social aid programs through the Build Back Better bill.
