In today’s episode of the Daily Round-up we look at the horrific deaths of over a 100 asylum-seekers in the Central Mediterranean as European countries continue to pursue brutal border policies; the conviction and sentencing of former Burkinabe President Blaise Compaoré in the assassination of his predecessor, pan-Africanist and Marxist revolutionary icon, Thomas Sankara; the demand by the February 14 Revolution Youth Coalition for the disbanding of the US Navy base in Bahrain; and a raid by the Italian gendarmerie forces, the Carabinieri, on the headquarters of the Union Sindacale di Base trade union which has been organizing a series of actions against war and the anti-worker policies of the government.
