On Monday, January 6, Yemen’s Ansar Allah-led Security and Intelligence Services announced that they had foiled a hostile plot allegedly orchestrated by the UK’s Secret Intelligence Service (commonly known as MI6) in collaboration with Saudi Intelligence Services in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.
The statement explained that the authorities in Yemen arrested members of an espionage network trained and recruited by the UK and Saudi Arabia, whose mission focused on monitoring missile facilities, military and security sites, as well as tracking high-profile military and political figures in Yemen.
The network’s members were reportedly trained “to develop espionage skills and utilize advanced spying technologies” in the Saudi capital Riyad. British officers provided them with “sophisticated communication tools and techniques to gather intelligence information”.
This comes amid Yemen’s ongoing military operations against Israel and its allies’ ships in the Red Sea, and other military targets, in retaliation for Israel’s genocidal aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Yemen has exposed multiple espionage networks operated by Israel and its allies
The UK-Saudi espionage network is not the first to be busted by Yemeni authorities. Last month, the Yemeni security authorities arrested several spies, who were reportedly working for Israel’s Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations (Mossad) and the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Yemen.
The Yemeni news network Almasirah reported that the spies were recruited by the wanted operative Hamid Hussein Fayed Majli, and assigned various tasks. These included “monitoring and collecting information about experts, laboratories, missile, and drone launch platforms, as well as vehicles targeting the Zionist enemy.”
Additionally, the spies were tasked to monitor the locations and sites of Yemen’s naval forces, camps, and weapons depots, and gather information on the whereabouts of top Yemeni leaders including Abdul Malik al-Houthi, as well as other political, military, and security leaders, and even social figures who oppose Israel and the US.
In June 2024, the Yemeni Security and Intelligence Service uncovered yet another espionage network operated by Israel and the US, that had infiltrated various institutions in Yemen since 2015.
Ansar Allah continues their military operations against strategic Israeli and US targets
While Israel, the US, and their allies continue to orchestrate hostile plots against Yemen by deploying espionage networks and launching deadly aggressions on the Arab country, Yemen’s Ansar Allah remains committed to carrying out strategic operations against targets belonging to these countries in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
On Monday, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman, announced in a televised statement that the forces carried out a successful military operation against the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman in the northern Red Sea. He added that “the operation, executed using two cruise missiles and four drones, disrupted what was described as preparations by the United States to launch a large-scale airstrike on Yemen.”
Saree added that the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a series of drone strikes against Israeli targets, including three military sites in the occupied coastal city of Jaffa, and a vital site in the city of Ashkelon.
He concluded his statement by reaffirming the Yemeni Armed Forces’ commitment to supporting the Palestinian resistance, emphasizing that their operations will continue until the aggression against Gaza ends and the siege is lifted.
