Iran claimed its nuclear power plant in Bushehr has been repeatedly attacked by US-Israeli air strikes, disregarding the possible consequences on civilians living in the region and in complete violation of international law.

In their first reactions, European politicians refused to name the US and Israel as initiators of attacks on Iran.

The US-Israeli strikes against Iran are part of a decades-long war against the Islamic Republic which has refused to bow to US demands that it surrender its sovereignty.

The strikes, launched jointly by the US and Israel, come amid ongoing nuclear talks between Iran and the US, mediated by Oman. Iran has begun its “overwhelming” retaliatory action against Israeli targets.

Iran, in announcing the continuation of talks, confirmed that the discussions were confined to its nuclear file.

If the world fails to control Israel’s brazen and criminal acts in Gaza and elsewhere in the region, such will become an international norm, the Iranian president warned during his speech at the UNGA.

Iran had previously accused IAEA Chief Rafael Grossi of collaborating with the US and Israel, undermining the impartiality of the UN agency and providing cover for the Israeli-US attacks on its nuclear sites.

The ceasefire announcement came less than 48 hours after the US joined Israel’s unprovoked aggression on Iran, striking its nuclear sites.

Trump’s announcement of US involvement came just one week after Israel launched unprovoked attacks against Iran.

Iran claims IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi facilitated Israeli aggressions by preparing a “biased” report on its nuclear program. It demands IAEA end actions against Israel as per the NPT and UN principles.
