The US once again refuses to seek peace for Palestine

“Israel has to do everything it can to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” said Secretary of State Antony Blinken in response to a question from Margaret Brennan of CBS’s Face the Nation on why the US does not push “for at least a temporary pause in the bombing as was proposed at the UN this week?”

The US is Israel’s biggest weapons funder and political ally.

Blinken’s brazen statement, effectively justifies the genocidal carpet bombing campaign IOF forces have been undertaking in Gaza. “Freezing things in place where they are now would allow Hamas to remain where it is and to repeat what it’s done sometime in the future. No country could accept that.”

On Sunday, both Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin asserted their willingness to escalate the war against Palestine if so-called Iran proxies target US personnel. “This is not what we want, not what we’re looking for. We don’t want escalation,” said Blinken. “We don’t want to see our forces or our personnel come under fire. But if that happens, we’re ready for it.”

According to Austin, “what we’re seeing is a prospect of a significant escalation of attacks on our troops and our people throughout the region.”

Sunday, October 22, has been described as the most intense episode of Israeli aggression since the October 7 start of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, with at least 400 additional Palestinians killed in Israel’s strikes against Gaza.

According to a Data For Progress survey released Friday, 66% of US voters agree that the US should call for a ceasefire and deescalation in Gaza.
